The New Year falls in the middle of the winter and nature does not support this bold decision. It’s no wonder we have a hard time keeping those resolutions.

Common detox myths and misconceptions
Detox Myth #1: You have to starve if you want to detox
A detox program shouldn’t make you feel like you are starving and delirious. A better approach is using delicious recipes and nutritious, seasonal food choices. Whole food-based supplements and herbs can also assist the cleansing process to support the body.
Detox Myth #2: You will feel sick and weak during a detox
The key is following a gentle detox program. Decreasing your food choices step by step will increase your energy, mental clarity and focus. Eating seasonal spring foods will help slowly eliminate toxins without a harsh detoxing effect.
Detox Myth #3: You can only have raw juice
Many people associate detox diets with a juice program. Most juice programs are very high in sugar and too extreme for the body. They can cause extreme headaches and even trigger some health issues. A more gentle way to detox is by using seasonal foods, blended drinks with the fiber still in them, and mineral-rich broths.

The program is designed in a way that you can do it at your own pace. All materials and resources are available in a private members area for you to download. You will have one full year of access to the members area, which includes a private community discussion where you can view all the previous questions and answers. If you need additional support, you can join the online group program, which happens once a year. If these dates do not fit your schedule, you can still purchase the detox program.

My personal story of digestion issues and obsessively detoxing
When I was in my early 20’s I started to realize that my body’s response to the foods I was eating was not normal. My stomach would get bloated every time I ate. I was also suffering from skin rashes and mysterious hives that would disappear as quickly as they appeared. I had difficulty getting my morning started, snoozing my alarm clock over and over. I looked tired with dark circles under my eyes. I would convince myself that these dark circles were normal, must simply be my genetics.
This was when I started to experiment with different detox programs. At first, I tried every detox program I could find. From raw food diets to an extreme 21 day liquid fasting program. I experimented with water fasting, supplements, and colon cleansing regimens. My body responded well! The dark circles under my eyes faded, my nails became strong and healthy, my digestion improved, my sleep was better. I was learning to really listen to my body! I was starting to pay attention to which foods made me feel good and which foods did not. I felt like a new person. But I became obsessed with detoxing.
I started to detox more often and for longer periods of time. The more extreme programs I followed the more skinny and weak I became. I could not gain weight, I became anemic, and I developed severe sugar cravings. What began as an incredible healing journey for my body eventually worked against me. I was pushing my body too hard and restricting my diet for too long.
In my 20 years of experience with my own personal detox programs, and through my experience working with my clients, I have gained knowledge and a clear understanding of how to detox the body in a safe and gentle way. Sometimes less is more. We are all very different. Our bodies have different needs. The key is to listen to what our bodies are telling us.

Following that, I have been conducting a private health counseling practice since 2006. How does it work?
Seasonal Spring Restart is a powerful 10 day detox program that combines seasonal whole food recipes, herbs and superfoods while focusing on detoxifying the liver.
After receiving your detox package and instructions, we will start with an online group meeting. Here I will go over the handouts and explain everything in detail. You will have the opportunity to ask questions. The online group meeting will be recorded, so no worries if you are doing the program at your own pace.
For 10 days, we will focus on eating simple seasonal foods, eliminating alcohol, sugar, flour products, dairy, and animal protein. We will slowly reduce our food intake, day by day. In the middle of the program you will have an option to go on a liquid diet for 1, 2 or a maximum of 3 days. Then we slowly transition back into eating solid foods, reintroducing each food group one by one back into our diet.
I will be there with you each day, walking you through each step. Guiding you with each meal plan and recipe. You will also have an amazing community of like minded people who are going through the cleanse with you and support you along the way.
If you are not joining us for the live group program but doing the detox program on your own no worries! All materials are archived in the members area for you to download. Frequently Asked Questions
A: Yes absolutely! You can do it on your own in your own time. Participating with the group provides great support but it is not necessary. All materials are archived in the members area for you to download. You will have one full year of access to the members area. This includes the community discussions, where you can view all previous questions and answers.
A: No you don’t have to fast. The 3 day liquid diet portion of the program is optional. You have a choice to do the fasting for 1 day, 2 days or 3 days or not at all. The program gives a lot of flexibility and I encourage everybody to listen to their body. Don’t push your body.
A: Throughout the program I will make suggestions for modification for those who can’t afford to lose weight. For example, there is an optional 3 day fasting/liquid diet part of the program. You will not participate in the fasting, but will continue eating a light vegan diet.
A: No this is not a 10 day fasting/liquid diet program. During the 10 day we gradually reduce our food intake, step by step. Then we have an optional fasting/liquid diet portion for 1, 2 or 3 days. After that we gradually start eating again, adding different food groups back into our diet slowly.
A: No you will have to stop drinking coffee. But in the beginning you can substitute with green tea to help you wean off coffee with minimal headaches.
A: Most of my past clients participating in this program are very active people with a full time job. Everybody’s body and health situation is different. Some people experience low energy during the program and some people have tons of energy. Sometimes you will experience both in different times of the program. But most cases people report low energy just in the beginning than they start having a lot of energy during the program.
A: In order to have a successful cleansing experience you will need to have access to a kitchen, fresh food you prepare, and a blender. So I don’t think this program is for people on the road. You want to take time to yourself and prepare your food daily. You can have a busy day and prepare your food for the day but if you are on a road trip with no access to a kitchen it will not work.
A: Yes you can definitely exercise but it’s recommended that you slow down and practice a lighter exercise program and nurture yourself especially during the middle of the program.
A: No this program is not suitable for pregnant or nursing women. During pregnancy you need a very different diet to ensure the baby’s development.
A: Absolutely not. The recipes and meal recommendations are simple and easy. I also help you with a shopping list and detailed instructions to help you prepare before we start. This program is all about preparation so you have an enjoyable 10 day detox journey.
A: It seems like you shocked your body with a very extreme detox program. Fasting is not for everyone and it definitely can be dangerous to just jump into such a program without preparation. During my detox program we ease into the cleanse by gradually reducing our food intake. We go slow before we have an option to go on a 100% liquid diet for 1, 2, or maximum 3 days. But it’s optional! I ask everyone to go slow and listen to their body.
A: Yes. The first two days we still eat protein; like beans, eggs or fish, but after that every meal recommendation and recipe is vegan. Even during those first two days you can choose to eat vegan, you don’t have to eat fish or eggs. And we only use a small amount of gluten free grains during the program, quinoa or buckwheat for example.
A: No. This detox program is based on real food, delicious recipes, superfoods and herbal teas. You will not only experience a deep detoxing effect but you will also learn to take care of your body following a seasonal diet.
